The Resigned Member of the Lebanese Parliament and President of the Independence Movement, Michel Moawad, tweeted: “The murder of Lokman Slim has all the hallmarks of a premeditated political assassination. It brings us back to the series of assassinations whose perpetrators the security agencies failed to identify. No one will succeed at terrorizing the Lebanese and hindering the path to change, regardless of how many crimes they commit.”

He added: “What happened attests to the need for unity among all political and civil groups fighting to build a sovereign state that respects freedoms and the law so that it may be implemented in Lebanon. I pay my condolences to the martyr’s family and all the Lebanese. We pledge not to allow our people’s will and their right to freedom and life to be hijacked, whatever the sacrifices.”
