President of the Independence Movement, MP Michel Moawad, met the European Union Ambassador to Lebanon, Christina Lassen, on Thursday morning at his residence in Baabda, where they discussed several issues related to politics, economy, and development in addition to the refugee issue.
Moawad discussed with Lassen the means to benefit from the international plan to support Lebanon through the CEDRE and Rome conferences, and to match them internally through necessary reforms to save the Lebanese economy and thus enable Lebanon to attract investments in its infrastructure; and to explore and adopt a defense strategy under the state umbrella that protects Lebanon.
And the two parties stressed on the importance of launching the development projects carried out by the European Union in light of the poor economic and living conditions in Lebanon, as previous experience has exhibited their effectiveness. Moreover, they also discussed ways to launch development projects for the sake of the Lebanese individual, his dignity, and his rights, thus enabling him to remain on his land.
