“The committee for the follow-up on women’s issues”, alongside the Rene Moawad Foundation, organized a 2-day workshop for enhancing the capacities of successful women members of municipal councils and women involved in municipal and public affairs. The workshops took place at the Foundation’s headquarters in Mejdlaya and were attended by 45 women members of municipal councils in the municipalities  of Koura and Zgharta districts.

The topics discussed included various matters like social gender and its integration in municipal work, the link between women participation and local development, efficient participation in municipal councils and the moral value of this participation, providing support, and mobilizing local communities.
