The President of the Independence Movement Michel Moawad visited the President of the Republic Michel Aoun at the Baabda Presidential Palace and presented his congratulations for his election.
Moawad also officially invited President Aoun to attend the memorial mass to be held on December 4th at the Saint John’s church in Zgharta in commemoration of President Moawad’s martyrdom.
Congratulating President Aoun, Moawad expressed his best wishes for the new Mandate, pointing out that all the Lebanese are looking forward for the return of the public institutions to work in an efficient way.
He further said: ‘The election of the President of the Republic was the first step towards the return of the Institutions, the ending of the vacancy, and the return of glistering life at the Presidential Palace.’
And he added: ‘What we have noted at the start of the Mandate, both in the Oath Speech and in President Aoun’s statements, represent a meeting point for all the Lebanese. The presence of a strong Christian President brings back balance and the spirit of proper partnership. This is a true and efficient way to return to the Taef Agreement.’
